METROPOLIS – The following information was released by the Metropolis Police Department on Tuesday, September 20, 2022.
September 14, 2022
Metropolis Dispatch advised officers that a vehicle that had been reported stolen was observed in the area. A Metropolis Detective Sergeant observed that vehicle, a 1996 gray, Oldsmobile Regency on Scott St. A traffic stop was conducted on 5th and Scott. The vehicle was conformed as stolen. A computer check on the driver, Matthew R. McIntosh, 41, of Smithland, KY, revealed that he was wanted on a no bond warrant. The warrant was issued by the U.S. Marshals for Amphetamines. McIntosh was arrested and charged with possession of a stolen vehicle and the warrant. He was lodged in the Massc County Detention Center.
September 15, 2022
Amber M. Golbert, 33, of Metropolis was arrested by a Metropolis Sergeant for Criminal Trespass to Property. Employees from Huck’s called to stated that Gilbert was in the store and had been previously trespassed from the property. She was also arguing with the manager. Gilbert was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
A Metropolis Officer stopped a gray Chevrolet Pick-up truck on U.S. 45 and Rt. 145. The registered owner of the vehicle was wanted on a warrant. The driver, Hannah M. Lewis, 22, of Brookport was not the registered owner, however, her driver’s license was suspended. Lewis was charged with driving while license suspended and released on bond.
A Metropolis Officer stopped a black Suzuki motorcycle for obstructed plates on 9th and Market. A computer check showed that the plates expired in 2011 and belonged on a Kawasaki. While citations were being issued, the driver, Dustin O. Cohoon, 28, of Metropolis asked to smoke a cigarette. A clear plastic baggie containing suspected drugs was observed in the plastic cigarette case. Cohoon was placed under arrest and a search revealed another baggie and a smoking pipe. The drugs tested positive for Methamphetamine. Cohoon was charged with possession of Meth, Possession of drug equipment, improper use of registration, operation of an uninsured motor vehicle and violation of classification. Cohoon was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
Evan P. Walker, 33, of Metropolis was arrested in the 800 block of Market St. A Metropolis Officer observed Walker and was aware of an active warrant. The warrant was issued by Massac County for failure to appear on a petition to revoke supervision. Walker was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
The preceding information pertains to an arrest made by the Metropolis Police Department. This arrest was made on the basis of probable cause and all arrestees are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
