MARION – A series of drive-by shootings were reported in Marion, Herrin and Carbondale during the early morning hours on Christmas Eve Saturday.

Police believe these acts may have been committed by the same person or persons. No injuries have been reported.

Williamson County Sheriff Jeff Diederich says these appear to be targeted acts and while the public should remain vigilant, there is not a cause for alarm.

These incidents are being investigated by the Herrin, Marion, and Carbondale Police Departments with the support of the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, Williamson County State’s Attorney’s Office, Jackson County State’s Attorney’s Office, and the Williamson County Major Case Squad.
