CARMI (WQRL/WISH/WMCL) – A ordinance is now in effect that sets curfews for city owned parks in Carmi. The Carmi City Council passed the ordinance at Tuesday night’s meeting.

According to the City of Carmi’s website, Burrell Park will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. with the exception of campers staying in the campground.

Bradshaw Park will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. with the exception of school or Carmi Recreational Summer League sanctioned baseball, softball or tennis games ending past 10 p.m.

Eckerle Park will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. with the exception of school, American Legion or Carmi Recreational Summer League sanctioned baseball or softball games ending past 10pm.

Uptown Theater Park will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Archie Brown Park will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., with the exception of school or Carmi Recreational Summer League sanctioned baseball or softball games ending past 10 p.m.

City sanctioned events lasting after 10 p.m. are exempt from this ordinance.

Any person violating the provisions of this ordinance shall be fined not less than $50 or more than $500 per day.
