BENTON – The Benton Police Department released the following information on Friday, March 3, 2023.
On February 15th, 2023 at approximately 7:40 p.m., Benton Police arrested Dennis C. Summers, age 28, of Benton on an active Franklin County warrant for domestic battery. Summers was transported to the Franklin County Jail for further processing.
On February 17th, 2023 at approximately 8a.m., Benton Police were dispatched to the 1400 block of North Main Street in reference to a domestic disturbance. Through investigation, police arrested Alexis A. Parks, age 21, of Christopher on an active Jefferson County warrant for failure to appear for failure to provide information. Parks was transported to the Franklin County Jail for further processing.
On February 19th, 2023 at approximately 11:30 p.m., Benton Police arrested Daniel W. Morgan, age 51, of Marion on active warrants out of Franklin and Jefferson counties for failure to appear for disorderly conduct and aggravated fleeing or attempting to elude police officer. Morgan was also charged with unlawful possession of methamphetamine. Morgan was transported to the Franklin County Jail for further processing.
On February 20th, 2023 at approximately 2:40 a.m., Benton Police conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of South Commercial and East Williams Street. Through investigation, police arrested Justin B. Osborne, age 33, of Ewing and Shane M. Tate, age 32, of Chicago for theft and burglary. Both were transported to the Franklin County Jail for further processing.
On February 24th, 2023 at approximately 8:50 p.m., Benton Police were dispatched to the 1200 block of Anna Street in reference to a criminal damage complaint. Through investigation, police cited Kinley A. Mitchell, age 32, of West Frankfort and Ethan L. Bowlin, age 45, of Sesser for criminal damage to property. Both Mitchell and Bowlin were given a notice to appear for a later date.
On February 25th, 2023 at approximately 7:20 p.m., Benton Police conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Madison and Joplin Street. Through investigation, police arrested Madison E. Medley, age 34, of Benton for unlawful possession of methamphetamine. Medley was charged and transported to the Franklin County Jail for further processing.
On February 25th, 2023 at approximately 11:45 p.m., Benton Police conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Kirkpatrick and Ward Street. Through investigation, police identified the driver as Larry C. Summers, age 45, and the passenger as Crystal E. Summers, age 43 both of Benton. L. Summers was arrested for driving while license revoked and also cited for operating a motor vehicle while registration is expired and no valid insurance. C. Summers was also arrested for resisting a peace officer. Both were charged and transported to the Franklin County Jail for further processing.
On February 28th, 2023 at approximately 10:20 p.m., Benton Police were dispatched to the 1000 block of Enterprise Street in reference to a theft from motor vehicle complaint. Through investigation on March 2nd, 2023 police identified the suspect as Derek S. Richardson, age 43, of Benton who was arrested for theft, criminal trespass and burglary. Richardson was charged and transported to the Franklin County Jail for further processing.
On March 1st, 2023 at approximately 8 p.m. Benton Police made contact with two subjects who were loitering outside of 224 Main Street known as Circle K. Through investigation, police arrested Kassie M. Tennant, age 41, of Johnston City on an active Williamson County warrant for failure to appear on unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Police also arrested Thomas D. McKee, age 23, of Benton on an active Johnson and Williamson county warrants for failure to appear for burglary. Both Tennant and McKee were transported to the Franklin County Jail for further processing.
