Benton City Council Approves Zoning Changes for Ben’s Lawn Service at Monday’s Meeting

BENTON – The Benton City Council unanimously approved zoning changes for Ben’s Lawn Service and Trailer Sales at Monday night’s meeting.

The city’s Zoning Administrator, Brian Calcaterra, tells us that Ben’s Lawn Service is moving their main sales facility to 1503 N. Main St., which was in the B-6 zoning district. That district doesn’t allow for the sale of agricultural implements.

In order for the city to allow this activity, Calcaterra says Ben’s Lawn Service had to apply for a zoning change to B-2, which allows for this activity by special use permit.

The Zoning and Planning commission had a hearing to discuss both the re-zoning and special use permit applications and gave their recommendation on both items to the City Council.
