DU QUOIN – Four people suffered non-life-threatening injuries following a two-vehicle crash Wednesday night in Perry County.

According to Illinois State Police, troopers responded to the scene of the crash on U.S. 51 at Illinois 14 in Du Quoin around 7:45 p.m.

Preliminary information says a 2018 silver Dodge, driven by 19-year-old Emily Arnold of Centralia, was traveling east on Illinois 14 as a 2015 red Chrysler, driven by 73-year-old Danny Kirk of Du Quoin, was traveling north on U.S. 51.

Arnold’s vehicle entered the intersection with U.S. 51 and struck Kirk’s vehicle, causing Arnold’s vehicle to roll over.

An infant in Arnold’s vehicle was flown to a regional hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Another passenger in Arnold’s vehicle – a 14-year-old girl – along with Arnold and Kirk were all transported by ambulance to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Arnold was cited for Failure to Yield Right of Way at Intersection and Failure to Secure Child in Safety Belt.
