WEST FRANKFORT – Illinois State Police responded to a multi-vehicle accident on southbound I-57 in West Frankfort Sunday.

ISP says around 11:10 a.m., a 1955 Chevy was traveling north on I-57 near milepost 66 as a 2023 Honda CR-V was traveling behind the Chevy. A 2018 Chrysler van traveling behind the CR-V.

The Chevy’s brakes locked up causing it to lose control and spin. Its rear bumper struck the guardrail face on the right side of the roadway. The CR-V struck the Chevy. The van then struck the CR-V in the rear.

No injuries were reported. No further information is available.
