MARION – The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office recently arrested two women for endangering the life or health of a child and meth.

According to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, around 11:15 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 3, sheriff’s deputies attempted to serve an arrest warrant in the 12000 block of Binkley Road. The arrest warrant was the product of a previous search warrant which was executed on May 22, 2023, at this same home.

Deputies approached the front door of the home and saw Jena K. Thompson, the subject of the arrest warrant, in plain view actively consuming methamphetamine. Thompson was arrested on the outstanding arrest warrant for Delivery of Methamphetamine 15g-100g and transported to the Williamson County Jail. She is being held on a $500,000 bond.

While taking Thompson into custody, another adult female was present.

While conducting a protective sweep of the home, a juvenile under the age of 12 was discovered in a hot, dilapidated, bug infested attic sleeping on the floor.

In the kitchen, Deputies observed an open and unkempt cat litter box full of feces, used dishes with food filling the sink and countertop that had attracted bugs, a refrigerator containing maggots, rotten food, and a large amount of an unidentified fluid. Due to sleeping conditions, the open use of narcotics in the presence of a juvenile, the overall condition of the house, and the potential health risk to the juvenile’s wellbeing, the juvenile was immediately taken into protective custody.

The female, identified as Krickett M. Head, was arrested and transported to the Williamson County Jail for Endangering the Life or Health of a Child due to the poor living conditions and the act of smoking narcotics with a juvenile, under the age of 12, present.

Concerns regarding the juvenile have been referred to the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services for further investigation.

After securing the home, sheriff’s deputies obtained a new search warrant. During the execution of the search warrant, deputies recovered methamphetamine, drug packaging materials, digital scales, and drug paraphernalia from the residence.

Head was issued citations for Possession of Methamphetamine, Endangering the Life or Health of a Child, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Thompson was issued citations for Delivery of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
