PIOPOLIS – Lucina Catherine Coy, 95, of  Piopolis, IL passed away at 12:50 p.m., Saturday, July 8, 2023, at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro, IL.

Visitation will be held 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Piopolis. Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. A Morning Visitation will begin at 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.,  Thursday, July 13 at Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro. The family will then go in procession to the church where the funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 13.

Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Piopolis. Father Slawomir Ptak will officiate the service.       

Lucina was born August 16, 1927, in Piopolis, IL to George and Katherine (Rubenacker) Roesch. She married Gordon R. Coy on January 3, 1946, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Piopolis. He preceded her in death October 14, 1995. Lucina was a homemaker and was a member of St. John Baptist  Catholic Church.  She loved visiting with her family and attending church.

Survivors include her children Mary Ann Coy Aydt, (Robert Dcd), James Ray (Linda) Coy, Kenneth Eugene (Patricia) Coy, Steven William Coy (Sandra Reyling), Deborah Lynn Coy (Terry) Aud, Dennis Joseph (Karen) Coy, Daniel Dale (Kitty) Coy; grandchildren Gordon Richard Coy, Laura (Billy)Johnson, David (Shanna) Aydt, Michael (Kendra) Aydt, Karen (Kevin) Aydt Maxim, Shannon (Mark) Aydt Brown, Cherri (John Pike) Coy Webb, Tamora (Vuel) Coy York, Ronald (Sherry) Coy, Rebecca (David) Coy Rider, Kristina (Brian) Coy Hebel, Michelle (Michael) Coy Eichoff, Steven P. Coy, Gary Lee Aud, Jerrod (Jordan) Aud, Krista Aud, Joseph (Whitney) Coy, Amanda (Justin) Coy Williams, Olivia (Matthias) Coy Campbell, Kathryn (Waylon) Coy Webb, Madisyn Gayle Coy. 42 great-grandchildren, 15 great-great-grandchildren and three on the way. Many nieces and nephews. Sister-in-Law Marilyn (Coy) Huffstutler. Daughter-in- Law, Laverne Meyer.

Lucina was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and children Gary Lee, David Paul; grandchildren; Rodney Ray Aydt, Lucy Johnson; son-in-law Robert Aydt, brothers Louis (Lona, Carrie), Xavier (Frances) Roesch and John Roesch; sisters Aurelia (Albert) Anselment, Tina (Martin) Anselment, Elizabeth (Anton) Lueke, Emily (Aloysius) Lueke, Mary Lou Roesch; Brother-in-Law Robert (Ethel) Coy and Norman Huffstutler.

Memorials are requested in Memory of Lucina for St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Cemetery Fund or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and will be accepted at the Church or Harre Funeral Home, McLeansboro, IL
