BENTON – A McLeansboro man has been arrested in connection with a burglary and theft that recently happened at a rural Thompsonville Home where a Polaris RZR side-by-side was stolen.
Franklin County Sheriff Kyle Bacon says the incident happened on June 28.
As a result of the investigation, Sheriff Bacon says a suspect was developed and deputies began searching for 27-year-old Keith E. Redmon Jr. of McLeansboro. Redmon is known to frequent areas of Franklin County. It was also soon discovered that Redmon was wanted on an Illinois Department of Corrections Parole Violation warrant.
During the early morning hours of July 1, the sheriff’s office received an anonymous tip via the sheriff’s office mobile app that Redmon was at a home in rural Benton. Deputies, with the assistance of Benton Police officers, responded to the home, located Redmon, and took him into custody.
The sheriff says Redmon Jr. is currently being held in the Franklin County Jail and is charged with Burglary and Theft over $10,000. Bond on the charges has not yet been set. The Illinois Department of Corrections warrant has no bond.
The stolen Polaris was recovered prior to the arrest and has been returned to the owner.
