MARION – Drainage work on Illinois 37 between Wildcat Drive and Cochran Road south of Marion is set to begin Monday, weather permitting.

According to IDOT, this work will require intermittent road closures between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. with additional weekend closures from 6 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Monday. You should plan for periodic delays and use the marked detour. Electronic message boards will be updated daily to inform motorists of upcoming closures.

The work calls for replacing drainage structures beneath the road. Only small segments of Illinois 37 will be closed at any given time. Access to homes and businesses will be maintained.

Work is expected to continue through Nov. 30.
