METROPOLIS – The Metropolis Police Department released the following information on Monday, July 28, 2025.
July 14, 2025
A Metropolis K9 officer stopped a black Nissan for a traffic violation at 6th and Butler Streets. A free air search was conducted, and K9 Krypto alerted to the presence of drugs. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed a black bag containing methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Jennifer Anderson, 43, of Metropolis, was arrested and charged with Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. She was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
July 16, 2025
A Metropolis Officer stopped a moped at Filmore and 15th Streets for lacking a registration plate. A computer check on the driver, Robert A. Smith, 66, of Metropolis, revealed that his driver’s license had been revoked. Smith was charged with Driving While License Revoked, Operation of an Uninsured Motor Vehicle, and No Valid Registration. He was released on a notice to appear.
Justin J. Todd, 34, of Hickory, KY, was arrested in the 700 block of W. 19th Street. Todd was wanted on a warrant issued by Massac County for Domestic Battery. He was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
July 17, 2025
A Metropolis Officer stopped a vehicle in the 2500 block of Devers Road after discovering that the vehicle’s registration had expired over a year ago. The driver, Denise A. Gilbert, 52, of Metropolis, was found to have no valid driver’s license or insurance. She was charged with Driving Without a Valid License, Operation of an Uninsured Motor Vehicle, and No Valid Registration. Gilbert was released on a notice to appear.
July 18, 2025
Joshua P. Pannell, 39, of Mt. Vernon, IL, was arrested at a residence in the Fairmont Apartments. Pannell was wanted on warrants issued by Massac County for Failure to Appear (FTA) on charges of Possession of Methamphetamine and Criminal Trespass to Property. Additionally, he was charged with Criminal Trespass to State-Supported Property, as he had previously been trespassed from Massac Housing property. Pannell was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
July 21, 2025
Metropolis Officers responded to a burglary at the Gear Up Youth Center located at 310 E. 6th Street. Numerous items, including TVs, cameras, clothing, and food, were stolen. Using video surveillance, officers identified two suspects and a vehicle involved. On July 25, officers were investigating a stolen vehicle report when they apprehended Jordon Hine, also known as Jordon Dyer, 26, of Metropolis, with the stolen vehicle in the 1100 block of E. 8th Street. While in custody, Hine began to overdose. Narcan was administered, and she was transported to the hospital. She was charged with Possession of a Stolen Vehicle and had a warrant for Theft of Auto and Theft of Property issued by Paducah, KY. Once released from the hospital, Hine was informed that she was also a suspect in the burglary.
Further investigation led to the arrest of Austin Burham, 30, of Metropolis, who was charged with Burglary, Theft, and had a warrant from Paducah for Auto Theft. Both Hine and Burham were lodged in the Massac County Detention Center. Most of the stolen items have been recovered. The investigation is ongoing, and additional arrests are possible.

Felicia R. Oliver, 49, of Metropolis, was arrested in the 1000 block of E. 6th Street. Oliver was wanted on a warrant issued by Johnson County, IL, for Failure to Appear (FTA) on a charge of Identity Theft. She was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

Brentyn J. Brown, 22, of Metropolis, was arrested in the parking lot of Walgreens. Brown was wanted on a warrant issued by Massac County for Failure to Appear (FTA) on a charge of Domestic Battery. He was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

Pamela K. Tyson, 65, of Metropolis, was arrested at 19th and Vienna. Tyson was wanted on a warrant issued by Massac County for Failure to Appear (FTA) on a charge of Driving While License Suspended (DWLS). She was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
