METROPOLIS – The Metropolis Police Department released the following information on Monday, March 3, 2025.
February 26, 2025
Robert Bowling, 46, of Metropolis was arrested at a residence in the Country Village apartments. Bowling was wanted on a warrant. The warrant was issued by Massac County for Aggravated Battery and Mob Action. He was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
February 27, 2025
On 02/25/25 Metropolis Police were advised by Casey’s General Store that Brandon L. Gilbert, 32, Metropolis entered the store after being previously trespassed. He was observed stealing a bottle of Vodka and left. On 2/27/25, Gilbert was located. He was arrested and charged with Burglary and Criminal Trespass. He was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
Kyle B. Hurst was arrested at a residence in the 600 block of East 6th Street. Hurst was wanted on a warrant. The warrant was issued by Massac County for FTA-Burglary and Theft. He was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
A Metropolis Officer stopped a white GMC for speeding 61 mph in a posted 45 mph zone on U.S. 45 and Devers Road. A computer check on the driver, Aaron M. Neal, 29, of Mayfield, KY, showed that he had a suspended driver’s license. Neal was charged and released on a notice to appear.
Curtis W. Whited, 45, of Metropolis was arrested in the 700 block of West 10th Street. Whited was wanted on a warrant. The warrant was issued by Massac County for FTA-Domestic Battery. He was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
March 1, 2025
Metropolis Officers were called to Frosted by Mollies for a trespassing complaint. Michael D. Anderson, 52, of Metropolis had been previously trespassed from the property. He was inside causing a disturbance. Officers arrived and charged Anderson with Criminal Trespass to Property. He was released on a notice to appear.
March 2, 2025
Metropolis Policed received 911 calls of a male yelling and armed with a knife in the 200 block of 5th. Officers responded to the area. A Metropolis Sergeant observed Jesse R. Owens, 33, of Metropolis in the 100 block yelling and towards Metropolis Street. Owens was in possession of two knives. The caller stated he was attempting to leave for work, when Owens started yelling and threatening him. Owens was charged with Disorderly Conduct and released on a notice to appear.
A Metropolis Sergeant stopped a blue Chevrolet on U.S. 45 and Mary’s Lane for speeding (72 mph in a posted 45 MPH zone). A computer check showed that the registration was suspended. A computer check on the driver, Felipe Rosas-Martinez, 49, of Paducah, KY, had a suspended driver’s license. He also could not provide proof of valid insurance. Rosas-Martinez was charged with driving while license suspended, operation of a motor vehicle with suspended registration, speeding and operation of a motor vehicle without insurance. He was released on a notice to appear.
The preceding information pertains to an arrest made by the Metropolis Police Department. This arrest was made on the basis of probable cause and all arrestees are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
