METROPOLIS – The following information was released by the Metropolis Police Department on Monday, Jan. 13, 2025.

January 1, 2025

Metropolis officers were called to a disturbance at a residence in the Smallville suites on East 8th Street. Upon arrival, officers learned that the victim had been attacked by Brandan G. Vance, 21, of Metropolis. Vance was charged with Battery and released on a Notice to Appear.

January 2, 2025

Metropolis officers were called to a residence in the 1000 block of Ferry. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the caller and was informed that Amber M. Gilberet, 36, of Metropolis had entered the residence. She had been previously trespassed. Gilbert was arrested for Criminal Trespass to Residence. A search incident to the arrest found her to be in possession of methamphetamine. She was charged with that as well. Upon completion of the processing, she was released on a notice to appear. Upon leaving the police department, she asked for her meth back which was denied.

Darrell A. McCoy, 66, of Metropolis was arrested at the courthouse. McCoy was wanted on a warrant. The warrant was issued by Massac County for FTA-Criminal Damage to Property. McCoy was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

January 3, 2025

Metropolis officers were called to Harrah’s Casino by security personnel. Upon arrival, a Metropolis sergeant made contact with Rosemary J. Bordoy, 48, of Metropolis. Bordoy had been previously trespassed from the property. She was charged with Criminal Trespass to Property and released on a Notice to Appear.

A Metropolis officer stopped a black Toyota for speeding 60 in a posted 45 mph zone on 5th Street. A computer check showed the driver, Japhet M. Mukadi, 20, of Buford, GA, had a suspended driver’s license. Mukadi was charged with Speeding and Driving while License Suspended. He was released on a Notice to Appear.

January 5, 2025

Metropolis officers were called to a disturbance at a residence in the 200 block of Lindsey. Rosemary J. Bordoy, 48, of Metropolis kept knocking on the door and would not leave. Officers drove her to three different residences at her request before leaving her with a friend on West 8th Street. About 3 hours later, officers were called back to West 8th Stret. Bordoy wanted another ride and officers refused telling her she needed to stay. Bordoy became argumentative and threatened harm to the officers. She was arrested and charged with Threatening a Public Official and taken to the Massac County Detention Center. Upon arrival, she was turned over to the jail staff. While being processed Bordoy became combative and punched the CO in the face. Additional charges will be file by the MCSO.

January 6, 2025

A Metropolis officer observed Jewlian M. Hearn, 19, Metropolis driving a motor vehicle on 10th and Metropolis. The officer was aware that Hearn did not have a drivers license. Hearn was charged with No Valid Driver’s License and released on a Notice to Appear.

A Metropolis officer stopped a black Nissan on North Avenue at 17th Street. A computer check showed that the driver, Jacob I. Valez, 21, of Metropolis had a suspended driver’s license. Valez was charged and released on a Notice to Appear.

January 7, 2025

A Metropolis officer stopped a vehicle on Filmore near East 12th Street. A computer check showed that the registration was suspended. A computer check on the driver, Zakry A. Anderson, 32, of Brookport showed that his driver’s license was suspended as well. He could not provide proof of insurance. Anderson was arrested and charged with Driving while License Suspended, Operation of a Motor Vehicle with Suspended Registration and Operation of an Uninsured Motor Vehicle. He was released on a Notice to Appear.

January 10, 2025

A Metropolis sergeant observed a vehicle on Lois Lane traveling too fast for the snow and ice conditions. The vehicle went through a yard and under a fence. The driver, Britni F. Word, 39, of Brookport had a suspended driver’s license. She was charged and released on a Notice to Appear.

The preceding information pertains to an arrest made by the Metropolis Police Department. This arrest was made on the basis of probable cause and all arrestees are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
