METROPOLIS – The Metropolis Police Department released the following information on Monday, Nov. 18, 2024.

November 11, 2024
Metropolis officers arrested Clayton A. Williams, 24, of Fancy Farm, KY, after observing him standing on the front porch of 17 Faughn Lane. The officer was aware that Williams was wanted on multiple warrants. Williams fled into the woods but was captured shortly afterwards. The warrants were issued by Massac County for Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle, Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Williams was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

November 13, 2024
Metropolis officers were called to the Smallville Apartments for a Domestic. Upon arrival, officers observed two females arguing and then observed Shelitha A. DeBerry, 37, of Metropolis shove the victim to the ground. The victim further stated the she was dragged around the room prior to the police arriving. DeBerry was also found to be in possession of a taser in her pocket and did not have a FOID. DeBerry was charged with Domestic Battery and Possession of a Taser without a FOID. She was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

November 17, 2024
Kelly D. Godfrey, 47, of Metropolis was arrested on a warrant in the 500 block of East 10th Street. The warrant was issued by Massac County for Battery. He was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

The preceding information pertains to an arrest made by the Metropolis Police Department. This arrest was made on the basis of probable cause and all arrestees are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
