WEST FRANKFORT – Dugan Alijah Roman’s, aka “Irons,” life was cut short on November 13, 2024, in Brownsville-Memphis, Tennessee, due to an awful car accident.

Alijah was a committed international ironworker from local 704 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He had accomplished being a top apprentice while coming in fourth place at the International Ironworker’s competition in September of 2022. While in high school, he had the love of football, wrestling, and track. Duggys’ creative spirit shown in Bye-Bye Birdie and junior high choir. He always had a drive to push himself to attain whatever dream he inspired to do.

He is survived by his loving mother, Lindsey Potts; stepfather Walter Soriano; two loving sisters, Adysson Potts, Hannah Crabtree and her husband, Geoffrey Crabtree; his Nana, Nancy McGhee-Seibert and grandfather, Frank Seibert; his aunt, Stephanie Seibert and fiance’ William Pinkston; his two cousins, Alexis Ray and Ryker Duncan; and numerous other loving family members who have been greatly affected by this tragedy.

Alijah’s compassion, love, infectious smile, and quick wit left a lasting impact on anyone he encountered. His laugh was so contagious it would touch the souls of the people around him. Alijah never met a stranger. He has an enormous heart of gold. Alijah will be deeply missed and his memory will shine through forever. He might be gone, but he will never be forgotten. As he always said its never “Goodbye” it’s a “See you later.”

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at Union Funeral Home in West Frankfort, Illinois. Visitation will be held from 12-2 p.m. prior to the service.
