As spring continues, the City will soon begin seasonal mowing operations to maintain City-owned properties and vacant lots throughout the community.

Each year, the City hires seasonal workers to assist with mowing and maintaining these areas. The seasonal crew often includes students who join the team during the summer months. Crews typically begin work in late April and continue through October.

These crews help maintain City-owned lots and also assist with mowing properties when necessary to address nuisance concerns. In some cases, the City may mow private properties when they are not properly maintained.

We appreciate the work these crews do each year to help keep Mt. Vernon looking its best.
