HERRIN – Williamson County Sheriff’s deputies stopped and arrested two women for drug-related and other offenses after seeing their vehicle commit multiple traffic violations at the intersection of Poplar and 13th streets in Herrin late Tuesday night.

According to the sheriff’s office, after stopping the driver, identified as Crystal D. Wagner, a sheriff’s K-9 arrived, conducted a free air sniff of the vehicle and alerted to the odor of illegal narcotics.

Deputies lawfully searched the vehicle and found methamphetamine, controlled substances, drug paraphernalia, drug packaging materials containing meth residue, and a clear glass smoking device containing meth residue.

Wagner was cited for Possession of Adult Use Cannabis in a Motor Vehicle and various motor vehicle offenses.

Her passenger, Carrie A. Palmer, was cited for Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Illegal Transport of Alcohol and Failure to Wear Seatbelt.

Wagner and Palmer were both lodged in the Williamson County Jail.
