HARRISBURG – Harrisburg Police continue to investigate a Tuesday afternoon shooting that happened in the 700 block of South Granger Street.

After police arrived, they spoke with witnesses and determined a male suspect, identified as 20-year-old Kelly R. Rouse of Harrisburg, had fired a gun while involved in an argument with another man. Rouse left the scene after the shooting and entered a home on Park Street.
Police spoke with those living at the home. They said Rouse was hiding inside. Police tried to get Rouse to come out, but were unsuccessful. Police entered the home and used a Police K-9 to find Rouse. He was found hiding in the basement. Rouse was then taken into custody without further incident.
During a search of the home, police found one handgun, believed to be used in the original incident.
Harrisburg Police were assisted at the scene by the Saline County Sheriff’s Office, the Harrisburg Fire Department and Abbott EMS.
