METROPOLIS – The Metropolis Police Department released the following information on Monday, Feb. 24, 2025.
Feb. 10, 2025
Metropolis Officers were called for a disturbance at a residence in the 200 block of Girard. Upon arrival, Officers located a female inside a vehicle throwing items around. She refused to cooperate with the officers and kept trying to get up to the residence. She was informed numerous times that she was not wanted at the residence. She again tried to go around the officers and then started struggling with them. Devonda G. Lamoureux, 23, of Calvert City, KY, was arrested and charged with Obstructing/Resisting a police officer. She was lodged at the Massac County Detention Center.
Feb. 13, 2025
Jeffery W. Anderson, 53, of Metropolis was arrested at 6th and Girard St. Anderson was wanted on a warrant. The warrant was issued by Kentucky for bail jumping. He was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center pending extradition.
Feb. 14, 2025
Metropolis Officers were contacted by personnel from Massac Memorial Hospital. They stated that Jonathan Shelton, 54, of Metropolis kept calling them and refused to stop. A Metropolis sergeant went to his residence on East 6th Street and advised him that he needed to cease his behavior. As the sergeant was finishing the report, he was advised that Shelton had again called the hospital. The hospital stated they would sign a complaint. Shelton was charged with Telephone Harassment and released on a notice to appear.
Feb. 16, 2025
A Metropolis sergeant stopped a vehicle pulling a trailer that did had defective taillights. A computer check on the driver, Matthew, J. Towns, 45, of Golconda revealed that his driver’s license was revoked. He could not provide proof of valid insurance. He was arrested and charged with Driving while Suspended, Operation of an Uninsured Motor Vehicle and Defective Tail Lamps. He was released on a notice to appear.
Feb. 17, 2025
Metropolis Officers were called to the loading dock of Harrah’s Casino. A Metropolis Sergeant met with security and IGB Agents who informed them that they found contraband and located the person who had possessed it. The substance field tested positive for LSD. Robert L Fulkerson III,43, Marine IL was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance. He was released on a notice to appear after being processed at the Metropolis Police Station.
Feb. 18, 2025
A Metropolis Officer stopped a vehicle on U.S. 45 and Devers Road. The officer recognized the driver, Timothy C. Jordan, 42, of Brookport. Jordan had a suspended driver’s license and had a warrant issued for his arrest. The warrant was issued by Massac County for FTA-DWLS. Jordan was charged with Driving while License Suspended and the warrant. He was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
Metropolis officers were called to a residence in the 1000 block of Ferry. Caller stated that Amber M. Gilbert, 36, of Metropolis was at the home. Officers were aware that Gilbert had been previously trespassed from the residence. Gilbert was also wanted on warrant. The warrants were issued by Massac County for Possession of Meth and Criminal Trespass to Property. Gilbert was located at the residence and arrested. A search revealed her to be in possession of 26 rounds of ammunition. Gilbert being a convicted felon was charged with Unlawful Possession of Ammunition by a Felon and Criminal Trespass to Property. Gilbert was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
Feb. 22, 2025
Metropolis Police received numerous 911 calls of a domestic disturbance in the parking lot of the Superbowl bowling alley. Upon arrival, officers located the couple and observed that the female was bleeding. A witness stated that he observed the male, Brandon L. Gilbert, 32, yelling and screaming at the victim and that Gilbert shoved the victim to the ground. Gilbert was charged with Disorderly Conduct and Domestic Battery. He was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
The preceding information pertains to an arrest made by the Metropolis Police Department. This arrest was made on the basis of probable cause and all arrestees are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
