GOREVILLE – Two people are in custody awaiting a detention hearing following a home invasion over the weekend in Goreville.
The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office says the pair were masked and broke into an occupied home on Tunnel Hill Road, used mace on the resident and battered him. When the pair left the scene, they stole the victim’s truck. Deputies located the truck in Williamson County.
The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office was notified where to find the truck. Deputies found it and apprehended both individuals by the truck.
During the investigation a second stolen vehicle that was stolen out of Union County was also recovered. The investigation also determined the victim of the home invasion in Goreville, knew one of the individuals who broke into his home. It was not a random break in according to the sheriff’s office.
