CARBONDALE – Two juveniles have been arrested after a couple of shootings that evolved from a personal disputes among acquaintances early Sunday morning in Carbondale.
Carbondale Police says officers responded to the 1000 block of East Grand Avenue for a report of shots fired just before 3:30 a.m. While investigating that incident, officers heard shots fired from the 400 block of East College Street. No injuries were reported in either incident.
In the ensuing investigation, officers located and arrested the juveniles for Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm and Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon. Officers recovered a firearm during one of the arrests.
The Jackson County State’s Attorney approved incarceration for both juvenile offenders. They were taken to a juvenile detention facility. However, one of the juveniles was declined by the detention facility after arrival. That juvenile was returned to court and eventually released on a monitoring device pending the next appearance in court.
