JOHNSTON CITY – A man was cited early Friday morning after cannabis and Alprazolam was found in the vehicle Williamson County Sheriff’s deputies saw him speeding in on Broadway Boulevard near Trout Avenue in Johnston City.

According to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office. deputies stopped the driver identified as Kyle M. Levine just after 2 a.m.

While completing a citation for speeding, a Johnston City Police Department K9 unit arrived on scene and conducted a free air sniff of the vehicle. 

The officer advised that his K9 had provided a positive alert to the odor of narcotics. 

A probable cause search of the vehicle located Alprazolam, a Schedule 4 controlled substance, and a small amount of cannabis was located in an aluminum Altoids can.

Levine was cited for Possession of Controlled Substance and Speeding.

Levine was taken to the Williamson County Jail.
