MT. VERNON (WMIX) – Members of the Mt. Vernon Police Department/Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office High-Risk Team served a search warrant Thursday that resulted in the arrest of a juvenile being sought in connection with a Tuesday afternoon shooting.

According to Mt. Vernon Police, around 2:40 p.m. Thursday, the H-R Team served a search warrant and a juvenile arrest warrant in the 1000 block of South 20th Street in reference to the shooting on Tuesday that sent an adult male to Crossroads Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The male juvenile suspect sought in the shooting was taken into custody without incident and will be detained at a juvenile detention facility. Due to the offender being a juvenile, no names or photos of the juvenile will be released.
