CARBONDALE – A GoFundMe page has been set up for 43-year-old Autumn Cole of Carbondale to help cover her end-of-life services, legal expenses, and establish a trust fund for her special needs daughter, Ellie, who is 10 years old.

Cole was shot to death over Memorial Day weekend by 32-year-old Timothy Gassel of Murphysboro on Oak Valley Drive in Carbondale.

According to Ese Esan, Communications Manager for GoFundMe, the fundraiser reads, “Ellie’s future is especially uncertain without her mother’s love and care. As a special needs child with a complex medical history, Ellie faces numerous challenges ahead.”

As of Thursday, almost $6,000 had been raised. The goal is $10,000.
