UPDATED WEDNESDAY 3/6/2024

PINCKNEYVILLE – The United States Geological Survey Tuesday morning recorded an earthquake in Perry County. The quake – initially reported as a magnitude 3.0 but later amended to magnitude 2.5 – was located near Pinckneyville.

The quake happened around 10:34 a.m.

It was reportedly felt by many in our area. There are no reports of damage at this time.

PINCKNEYVILLE – The United States Geological Survey says a magnitude 3.0 earthquake was recorded around 10:30 Tuesday morning 3.8 miles east of Pinckneyville.

The quake measured almost 7 miles deep.

No word if the quake caused any damage at this time.
