METROPOLIS – The Metropolis Police Department released the following information on Monday, March 4, 2024.

February 28, 2024

Terrell B. Dean, 38, of Golconda, IL, was observed walking in the 200 block of Filmore by a Metropolis officer on patrol. The officer was aware that Dean was wanted on a warrant. The warrant was issued by McCracken County, KY, for possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Dean was arrested and lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

An officer on patrol observed Izell Jones, 45, of Cairo, IL, walking in the 700 block of East 3rd Street. The officer was aware that Jones was wanted on a warrant. The warrant was issued by Massac County for possession of a stolen automobile. Jones was arrested and lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

February 29, 2024

Metropolis officers were called to the Super 8 Motel for a patron that would not leave the room after check out time. Upon speaking with the patron, Dwane J. Dillon Jr., 42, of Joppa, IL, a computer check was conducted. The computer check revealed that Dillon was wanted on a warrant. The warrant was issued by Massac County for burglary. Dillon was arrested. An inventory of his property revealed that he was in possession of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and more than 10 but less than 30 grams of cannabis. Dillon was charged with these offenses as well as the warrant. Dillon was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

A Metropolis sergeant observed a white Chevrolet pick-up truck traveling eastbound on West 10th Street. The sergeant recognized the driver, Charles L. Rankin, 50, of Metropolis. The sergeant was aware that Rankin had a revoked driver’s license. A traffic stop was conducted and a computer check confirmed that Rankin was still revoked. Rankin was charged and released on a notice to appear.

A Metropolis officer observed a vehicle proceed by him. The officer recognized the driver, Jamie L. Schockey, 47, of Metropolis and was aware that she had a suspended driver’s license. The officer also recognized the passenger, Casey A. Schockey, 47, of Metropolis and was aware that there was a valid order of protection issued and that Jamie was the protected person. A stop was made in the 1100 block of East 6th Street. Both were arrested. Casey Schockey was charged for violation of an order of protection and lodged in the Massac County Detention Center. Jamie Schockey was charged with driving while license suspended and released on a notice to appear.
