MARION – A man has been cited for burglary after Marion Police Tuesday responded to Ameren CIPS on West Main Street for a “burglary in progress”

According to Marion Police, 35-year-old Scott O. Swanson was taken to the Williamson County Jail pending his first court appearance.

When police arrived, they established a perimeter. While canvassing for Swanson, they discovered tools and discarded clothing. Close to these items, officers determined that the ground had been disturbed, leading them through a ditch to a wooded area.

Officers successfully found Swanson and placed him into custody without incident. They found that several vehicles on the Ameren property had been entered and rummaged through. All stolen property was recovered, and officers obtained a recorded confession from Swanson.
