According to Mt. Vernon Police Chief Trent Page, Jennifer Larson was arrested on charges of aggravated battery to a police officer and reckless discharge of a firearm.

Chief Page says officers responded around 6:26 p.m. to a home in the 1600 block of South 13th on a report of a disturbance involving a woman who had fired a weapon.

Upon their arrival, officers found a male subject restraining a female subject. They soon discovered the male had disarmed the female and had secured the gun.

As officers approached the woman, she reportedly began kicking at officers, and kicked one of them. She was ultimately taken into custody and transported to the Jefferson County Jail.

Police report Larson had pulled up outside the South 13th home and began honking her horn.

The male subject went outside where Larson reportedly began asking him for help and gave the man the key to her vehicle.

The man went back inside, but when he again went outside, Larson allegedly fired a gun into the air.

The man was able to disarm and subdue her before officers arrived.

Chief Page says this wasn’t a domestic incident. He doesn’t believe there was any previous relationship between the two.
