MARION – The annual Veterans on Parade is set to take place Saturday along Main Street in Marion.

Edward Davis, president of the Veterans on Parade organization, says this is the 19th year for the event that honors our veterans and first responders. Davis says he is focusing this year’s event on our Gold Star Mothers.

The parade will begin at 10 a.m. at Marion Junior High School on Main Street and end at the Williamson County Fairgrounds where a memorial service will take place around 11:30 a.m. honoring the Gold Star Mothers and their families along with those killed in action from Southern Illinois.
