SOUTHERN ILLINOIS – A nonpartisan, nonprofit organization called New Illinois will be holding events to educate Illinoisans about their right, under the U.S. Constitution, to pursue the formation of a new state.

You can attend an event in Red Bud Thursday from 7 to 9 at Ratskeller, located at 1019 Veterans Street in Red Bud. It’s sponsored by the New Illinois Monroe County Committee.

On Friday, New Illinois, Inc. will sponsor an event at the Holiday Inn Express Conference Center, located at 120 Muddy Monster Road in Murphysboro. It will run from 7 to 9 p.m.

There are two events set for Saturday at Crossroads Church, located at 340 Walnut Hill Road in Centralia, from 1 to 3 p.m. and again from 6 to 8 p.m. It’s sponsored by the New Illinois Marion County Committee.

Then on Sunday, an event will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. at Hogg Hollow Winery, located at 48 E. Glendale Rd. in Golconda. It’s sponsored by Hogg Hollow Winery.

Each event will be presented by GH Merritt, Chairman of New Illinois.
