MARION – A man is facing a weapons charge after being stopped by Marion Police early Wednesday morning.

According to a post on the Marion Police Department Facebook page, the traffic stop was for speeding and lane usage. When the officer approached the vehicle, a rifle with a loaded drum magazine was seen lying on the passenger floorboard and an additional pistol equipped with a high capacity magazine was found on the passenger seat all within immediate access to the driver, identified as 22-year-old Malik Evans.

Evans has pending charges for Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon and was cited for speeding and lane usage. He is lodged in the Williamson County Jail pending future court proceedings.
