HOUSE SPRINGS, MO – Clyde Everett Smith, age 90, passed away at 9:30 p.m., Friday, May 26, 2023 at St. Andrews @ Francis Place in Eureka, MO. Clyde was a resident of House Springs, MO and formerly a resident of McLeansboro, IL.
Graveside burial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 30, 2023 in Old Springer Cemetery near Blairsville. A Military Honor Service will be held by the Military Honor Team of Marion, IL and American Legion Post 106 of McLeansboro, IL. There will also be a Masonic Service held by the Enfield Masonic Lodge #677 and Clyde was a member of Scottish Rite Valley of Southern IL and Ainad Temple Shriners.
Clyde was born February 18, 1933 in Hamilton County, IL to Elbert Smith and Ella Myrtle (Goffinett) Smith. He attended Hamilton County Schools and graduated with the Class of 1952. Clyde worked as an industrial truck mechanic with Chrysler Corporation for 38 years. He served in the U.S. Marines Corps from 1953 to 1956. Clyde married Beulah Harre on December 19, 1959 in McLeansboro, IL and she survives.
Survivors include his wife Beulah Ann (Harre) Smith, House Springs, MO; his son Clyde Lee Smith of House Springs, MO; sisters Martha Kienzle of Burley, ID and Dorotha Tolley of McLeansboro, IL; also a host of nieces and nephews.
Clyde was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Emanuel, Roy, Norman, Cletis, Neal, Raymond, Ralph and Dawson; sisters Esther and Eulah.
The Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro is in charge of arrangements.
