
METROPOLIS – The following information was released by the Metropolis Police Department on Monday, April 3, 2023.
March 20, 2023
Metropolis officers were called to a crash in the 1200 block of W. 10th St. During the investigation, one of the drivers, Anna L. Clark, 42, Metropolis was found to have a suspended driver’s license. Clark also did not have insurance on her vehicle. Clark was charged with Driving while License Suspended and Operation of an Uninsured Motor Vehicle. Clark was released on bond.
March 23, 2023
Conner L. Gallo, 20, Metropolis was arrested in the 300 block of Yasoda. Gallo was wanted on a warrant. The warrant was issued by Massac County for FTA-Violation of an order of protection. Gallo was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
March 25, 2023
Metropolis officers were called to the emergency room of Massac Memorial Hospital. Officers were informed that a patient had become angry and punched a hole in the wall. Upon arrival, Officers observed the damage. Jackson J. Snow, 38, Metropolis stated he was angry because the hospital personnel were taking too long to treat him. Snow was arrested for Criminal Damage to State Supported Property. Snow was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center once he was cleared for release from the hospital.
A Metropolis officer conducted a traffic stop on a white Nissan on James Drive. A computer check had revealed that the registration had been suspended. The driver, Seth T. Light, 33, Metropolis was charged with operation of a motor vehicle with suspended registration. He was released on bond.
March 26, 2023
Metropolis officers were called to a domestic disturbance at a residence in the 1800 block of Gibbons. Upon arrival, officers observed visible injuries to the victim. Taylor M. English, 29, Metropolis was arrested for Domestic Battery. English was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
March 27, 2023
A Metropolis officer stopped a white Chevrolet Cruze for a lighting violation on 12th and Market St. A computer check on the driver, Elijah K. Watson, 23, Valdosta, GA, revealed that his driver’s license was suspended. Watson was charged with Driving while License Suspended and released on bond.
March 30, 2023
Metropolis Police and Massac County Deputies were called to assist with an investigation with Paducah Police detectives. Paducah was attempting to locate Corey J. Atkinson, 24, Metropolis. Atkinson was wanted on a warrant. The warrant was issued for him for making a false police report that he had been shot in Paducah. The facts showed that he had accidentally shot himself and tampered with the evidence. Multiple locations were checked before he was located at a residence in the 300 block of E. 4th Street. Atkinson was arrested without incident and lodged in the Massac County Detention Center pending extradition to Kentucky.
The preceding information pertains to an arrest made by the Metropolis Police Department. This arrest was made on the basis of probable cause and all arrestees are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
