CARMI – A Harrisburg man is facing charges after Carmi Police were called to a disturbance at Huck’s with a possible intoxicated man around 2 Friday morning.

According to a Carmi Police report, officers arrived on scene and saw a man matching the description given.

Huck’s employees said they wished to trespass the man due to his behavior in the store.

Officers told the man that he was trespassing and had to leave the property. The man would not provide his name and refused to leave.

In the process of arresting the man, he became combative. The man, later identified as 21-year-old Elijah R. Persinger of Harrisburg, was charged with Aggravated Battery of a Peace Officer, Resisting and Obstructing a Peace Officer, Criminal Trespassing and Criminal Damage.

Persinger was taken to the White County Jail. His bond has not been set.
