METROPOLIS – The Metropolis Police Department released the following information on Monday, March 13, 2023.

March 6, 2023
A Metropolis officer stopped a gold colored Honda Accord on E. 2nd Street at Metropolis Street for an expired registration. The registration had expired almost a year ago in March of 2022. A computer check on the driver, Jackson J. Snow, 38, of Metropolis revealed that his driver’s license was suspended. Snow was arrested and charged with Driving while License Suspended, Operation of an Uninsured Motor Vehicle and Expired Registration. Snow was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

March 7, 2023
Steven D. Cleary, 34, of Brookport was arrested at Harrah’s Casino. Cleary was wanted on a warrant. The warrant was issued by Massac County for FTA-Suspended Driver’s License. Cleary was lodged at the Massac County Detention Center.

After an investigation by the Metropolis Police Detectives, Charles MW McManus, 26, of Metropolis was arrested and charged with Attempted Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault of a Child. Due to the age of the victim, no further information is being disclosed. McManus was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

The preceding information pertains to an arrest made by the Metropolis Police Department. This arrest was made on the basis of probable cause and all arrestees are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
