MARION – A man has been charged with Aggravated Domestic Battery following a disturbance on Napoleon Lane in rural Williamson County Sunday.

According to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, Sharief T. Smart was arrested on the charge and booked into the Williamson County Jail.

When deputies arrived at the scene, they discovered a female with severe lacerations to the neck, shoulder and hands. An ambulance took her to an adequate landing zone in Johnston City where she was subsequently airlifted to a St. Louis area trauma hospital. She is reported to be in stable condition.

The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office says this is an ongoing investigation. Additional charges are pending.
