Williamson County Sheriff Releases St. Patrick’s Day Enforcement Results

MARION – The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office announced Friday that it issued four seat belt citations, three speeding citations, two disobeying traffic control device citations, one distracted driving citation and one no valid driver’s license citation during the St. Patrick’s Day enforcement period.

Sheriff Bennie Vick says by keeping impaired drivers off the roads and ensuring that motorists and passengers are buckled up, we’re able to help make the roads a safer place for everyone.

The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office joined forces with highway safety partners and both state and local law enforcement in the St. Patrick’s Day enforcement campaign.

The traffic safety effort was funded by federal highway safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation as part of the statewide “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Click It or Ticket” campaigns.
