Weekend Traffic Stop in Carbondale Lands Two in Jail on Drug, Gun Charges

CARBONDALE – Two men are facing charges after Carbondale Police pulled them over for a traffic violation on West Freeman Street near the intersection with South Poplar Street early Saturday morning.

Police say during the course of the investigation, officers arrested the passenger, 27-year-old Keenan Parson of Marion, on a Jackson County Traffic Warrant. Officers found a firearm reported stolen out of Tennessee and an illegal amount of cannabis inside the vehicle.  

Officers arrested the driver, 25-year-old Ricky Henry, of Murfreesboro, TN, for Aggravated Unlawful Use of Weapons, Possession of Stolen Firearm, and Possession of Cannabis 30-500 grams.  

Officers charged Parson for the warrant, Possession of Cannabis 30-500 grams and Violation of Bail Bond.

Henry and Parson were lodged in the Jackson County Jail.
