Wednesday Morning Crash in Gallatin County Injures Grayville Woman

NEW HAVEN – A Grayville woman was injured in a two-vehicle crash in Gallatin County Wednesday morning.

According to Illinois State Police, around 11:20 a.m. a car driven by 69-year-old Shirley M. Hughes of Grayville was going west on Illinois 141 approaching Vine Street near New Haven as a box truck driven by 31-year-old David A. Dicke of Paducah was going east on Illinois 141 approaching Vine Street.

As Dicke was traveling straight ahead, Hughes began turning left in front of Dicke failing to yield the right of way to his vehicle. Hughes struck the front of Dicke’s vehicle in the intersection.

Hughes was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Dicke was not hurt.

Hughes was cited for Failure to Yield Turning Left.
