MT. VERNON – Two Mt. Vernon residents were taken into custody on drug charges Tuesday by the Mt. Vernon Police Department/Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department Joint Narcotics Unit.
MVPD/JCSO law enforcement executed a search warrant around 2 p.m. at 1318 South 26th in Mt. Vernon. Quantities of methamphetamine, fentanyl and drug equipment were located at the home.
As a result of the investigation 60-year-old Gary A. Obryant, was arrested on charges of possession with intent to deliver 5 to 15 grams of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug equipment. His bond was set at $125,000. Also, 40-year-old Rachel N. White was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug equipment. Her bond is set at $20,000.
The search warrant was a result of on-going investigations related to the sales of narcotics in the Mt. Vernon and Jefferson County area.
