Three Injured in Weekend Shooting in Carbondale

CARBONDALE – Carbondale Police continue to investigate a shooting that injured three people early Sunday morning in the 300 block of West Cherry Street.

When officers arrived, they found three gunshot victims in the area of a vacant home where a party was taking place. All three went to the Memorial Hospital of Carbondale for gunshot wounds. Two of the victims were treated and released with non-life-threatening injuries and a third victim had serious injuries.

Officers recognized that the third victim sustained serious or life-threatening injuries and immediately requested an ambulance to the scene. Officers were informed that ambulance arrival would be delayed due to their assignment to other emergency calls. The officers on-scene then identified a pickup truck at the home and were able to verify the owner who was at the scene. Officers requested to utilize the vehicle to transport the victim to the emergency room. The vehicle owner cooperated with officers who then drove the victim to Memorial Hospital.

Police are not releasing any suspect information at this time.
