CARMI – The White County Sheriff’s Office Monday announced that an arrest has been made regarding sexual exploitation of a child.
According to White County Sheriff Randy Graves, in October of last year, the sheriff’s office received a call about sexual exploitation of a child.
Sheriff Graves says the child is a resident of White County and received inappropriate messages on their phone.
The sheriff says the suspect knew the person they were talking to was a young child. The suspect interacted with the child in pornography manner.
After an investigation by the White County Sheriff’s Office, the Carmi Police Department and Homeland Security, the suspect was located in California.
Sheriff Graves says the suspect, whose name was not released, was charged with Coercion and Enticement, which is a minimum of 10 years to life in prison, Recipient of Child Pornography – which is a minimum of 5 years to a maximum of 20 years in prison and Possession of Child Pornography – a maximum of 10 years in prison.
