CARBONDALE – Carbondale Police are investigating a couple of shootings that happened in the 1300 block of North Robert A. Stalls Avenue Sunday night.
According to police, officers went to the area the first time around 7:50 p.m. They learned that unknown persons fired gunshots at a house in the area. During the investigation, officers learned a building and three cars were struck by bullets. No injuries were reported as a result of this incident.
Then at 9:45 p.m., officers were called to the same area again regarding gunshots being fired near the same house. Officers learned unknown males were once again firing at the house and an acquaintance of the resident, who was a concealed carry holder, returned fire. An adult male a few blocks away reported being struck by a bullet. He was treated at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale for the non-life-threatening wound.
