MT. VERNON, IL (January 20, 2021) – SSM Health began providing COVID-19 vaccinations to Phase 1B patients on Wednesday, January 20, 2021. Per the Illinois Department of Public Health, Phase 1B includes persons aged 65 years and older and frontline essential workers.

Currently, vaccines are being administered at our primary care office in Mt. Vernon at 4103 S. Water Tower Place. To schedule a vaccine, please contact your SSM Health primary care provider. If you do not have a primary care provider, please contact your local health department to schedule your vaccination or go to www.ssmhealth.com/primary-care, as we are always accepting new patients.

When you call to schedule an appointment, you will be asked screening questions and given an appointment. When you arrive at the office you will be registered and then the vaccine will be administrated. Patients are then asked to wait in the office for 15 minutes to be monitored for any immediate side effects.

At SSM Health, we are eager to protect our communities by getting everyone vaccinated against COVID-19. Thank you for your patience as we work with our local public health authorities to provide the vaccine as quickly as possible to all those who want to receive it.

We also ask that you please continue to be vigilant in protecting yourself and others from spreading illness: wear a mask, maintain social distance, practice frequent hand washing, do not gather with people you do not live with, and stay home when you are sick.
