SIC Hosts 2022 Section 25 FFA Ag Mechanics Competition

HARRISBURG – After a two-year hiatus, Southeastern Illinois College once again served as host for the 2022 Section 25 FFA Ag Mechanics Competition.

Eleven high schools from around the region converged on Tuesday, April 19, for the event. Sixty-seven high school students competed in such categories as ag power, carpentry, electricity, surveying, and welding. Carmi-White County High School took home first place. Second and third places went to Eldorado High School and Carrier Mills-Stonefort High School respectively.

“It was great to see all the FFA members again since COVID shut us down for a while,” says CTE and Special Projects Coordinator, Ricky Sauls. “We had a great turnout with 67 students participating. The competition went very well and the students seemed to have a good time.”

Other high schools competing in the event were Galatia, Hamilton County, Hardin County, Harrisburg, Joppa, Norris City-Omaha-Enfield, Pope County, and Vienna.
