CARBONDALE – Carbondale Police are investigating a shooting that injured one person in the 800 block of North Madison Street Tuesday night.
Police say while responding to the scene, they learned that a gunshot victim arrived at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.
During the course of the investigation, officers learned several shots were fired by the suspect from a vehicle toward a gathering of people. The suspect vehicle was described as an older model, blue Chevy Camaro with a blue stripe along the side. Witnesses indicated the Camaro fled the area north on North Marion Street. The victim received a non-life-threatening gunshot wound as a result of the incident. A vehicle parked in the area also sustained damaged during the incident.
The disturbance is reported to be the result of an ongoing dispute amongst acquaintances. There is not any suspect information to share at this time.
