One Injured in Thursday Morning Crash in White County

CARMI – A crash involving a truck and a semi happened Thursday morning in White County.

According to Illinois State Police, a semi driven by 29-year-old Andrew W. Krouse of Grayville and a pickup truck driven by 52-year-old Troy B. Williams of Norris City were traveling north on Illinois Route 1 at County Road 750 North when Williams had slowed to turn left onto County Road 750 North.

Krouse moved into the southbound lane in an attempt to pass Williams. Krouse struck Williams in the driver’s side rear quarter panel. Krouse overturned and traveled off of the roadway to the right.

Krouse and Williams refused medical attention. Williams’ passenger, 34-year-old Joshua A. Wright of Norris City, was taken by ambulance to a regional hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Krouse was cited for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid a Crash, Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle, No Proper Evidence of Registration, and Failure to Transfer a Title.

Wright was cited for being a Passenger Required to Wear a Safety Belt.
