Mt. Vernon Police Alerts Public Regarding Scheduled Scenario-based Training

MT. VERNON – The Mt. Vernon Police Department is alerting the public of scenario-based training taking place Thursday and Friday during normal business hours.

This mock training scenario will involve multiple first responder agencies, the Illinois State Police and National Guard Specialty Teams. The scenarios will take place between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. in the 1100 block of Shawnee Street, the 300 block of South 2nd Street, and the Old US Bank downtown. All locations will have signage indicating training is in progress.

Again, these are mock training scenarios designed to enhance each agencies abilities individually as well as an overall group as they work together to prep for different scenarios.
