MCLEANSBORO – The City of McLeansboro is taking steps toward its new City Hall.
City Clerk Jodi Brockett says the budget for the new City Hall project will not go over $1 million. That was agreed to by the City Council at Tuesday night’s meeting.
Brockett says this doesn’t give the Council the go ahead to start plans. The city will be working with Curry and Associates on the project going forward.
In other business, the Council approved playground equipment and mulch for the Izaak Walton Cabin area. The city will spend up to $25,000 on this project. The Council also accepted a property donation from Bird Dog Properties along the old railroad that goes over the viaduct. It also accepted the agreement from IDOT regarding the viaduct. Plans call for removing the viaduct and fixing that area if the money is there to do so.
